Our October meeting date has been changed.

Our meeting originally scheduled for October 11th has been changed to the following Saturday, October 18th.    We will meet as usual at the St. Albans Public Library at 10:00 a.m.  Steve will give the highlights of the WVBA fall meeting and discuss what you should be doing now in your bee yard.

Did you order a Beekeeper T-shirt? :  The T-shirts that were ordered in May were delivered and picked up at the August meeting.  We still have T-shirts for Bill Warner and Brian Ferrell.

We took orders from several people at the August meeting with the understanding the state might not submit a second order.  In that case your money would be refunded.  Our understanding is that the state was waiting until after the fall meeting to submit another order but we have no further information.  We are still holding the checks and the cash.  There is a WVBA board meeting November 1st so by our November meeting on the 8th we should have your T-shirts or your refund.

2009 Dues: Now is a good time to get your $12.00 family membership paid.  KVBA keeps $6.00 and $6.00 goes to the state organization.  Membership in the state organization offers many benefits.  WVBA has been instrumental working with the state legislature to provide the benefits you enjoy such as free mite treatments, a discount on package bees and the service of bee inspectors.

You can give your cash or check to our treasurer Larry Lipscomb.  Checks should be made out to Kanawha Valley Beekeepers Association.  If you won’t be at the meeting, you can send your check to Larry at 138 Pinch Ridge Road, Elkview, WV 25071.

Help us out:  At our last meeting Bruce Plumley joined KVBA but we do not have his address or phone number.  If anyone knows how to contact him, please let us know.  Call us at 562-3339.

One More Meeting:  We have only one more meeting scheduled in 2008.  It will be on November 8th at the St. Albans Public Library.
